The hype over the end of the Oprah Winfrey show going off the air is a bit over the top for me. It is a tv show, a historic one yes, a long running one indeed but you would think by the commercials and Oprah herself that cures for every world disease were found and that war was ending forever. Given she also began a network, as this 'end' takes place we are seeing more Oprah than ever before.
Today though there was a show worthy of the hype. With all the filler's of late it was nice to hear Chaz Bono discuss his transition, his mother's reaction, his pain. Chaz clearly and honestly shared his story. I wish there were more stories and less self promotion. Yes Oprah we know you have a new channel. It would be nice to be able to praise Oprah and her accomplishments but sadly she has already said it all herself. I have to question how groundbreaking something can really be if it is self labeled so.
