Just Because: Ben Wright

I have been wanting to do a feature on actor Ben Wright ever since I started FH. In the early 90's I listened to the Into The Woods soundtrack constantly and loved that I got to see the show via the PBS television version. I kept putting off posting about Ben hoping that I might track down some great image or he might appear in a new movie, tv show or stage production. Sadly I think Wright has left the business. His last Broadway credit is the 1996 production of State Fair and with the exception of playing 'Angry Man' in a 2008 short, Wrights last film credit was the 1994 Penny Marshall flick Renaissance Man.

I love Wrights vocals and Jack's few songs are some of my favorites. Into The Woods is a show in which the soundtrack is almost better than the actual show. The lyrics to many of the songs have so much meaning and say so much they cannot possibly be captured with just one listen. If anyone knows what Ben is up to please shoot me a line. If you have not listened to ITW you should, the entire cast is superb and Bernadette Peters' Children Will Listen is magnificent.

Joshua Buscher in 'Washington Crossing the Delaware'

Last year I profiled actor Charlie Sutton (then appearing in The Addams Family, currently on Broadway in Catch Me If You Can). As part of that profile I added some shots of Charlie, along with actor Joshua Buscher (currently seen in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert) from 'The Bank' from 2010's Broadway Bares (see those shots below). This year Joshua was back in another incredibly hot number ''Washington Crossing the Delaware'

Brandon Rubendall: Masterpiece

I continue to slowly (still on a blog break for a few more days...) roll out my Broadway Bares features. Next up is Spiderman's Brandon Rubendall whom I profiled just a few weeks ago. (check that post out HERE:)

Above: Love the shot above by Kevin Thomas Garcia.

Brandon is a favorite of mine, that body, that face, those moves, and his number was a highlight of the show.

Live From New York, it's Jonathan D. Lovitz!

The 'D' in Jonathan D. Lovitz is crucial when taking New York, acting and singing and especially when googling 'shirtless Jonathan D. Lovitz'. Without the 'D' well you take your chances!

If you are lucky enough to be in New York tonight (and it is GREAT week to be in NY) you can catch FH favorite Jonathan, along with fellow SetUp Squad cast members Helen Hong and Lauretta Nkwocha live and fabulous at the Metropolitan Room. The fun starts at 9:30pm and if you can check out more HERE:

The three shots of Jonathan below from Michael Cinquino from cnq photography.

Speaking of Setup Squad, if you enjoyed season 1 on Logo, head on over to The Petition Site and sign on to help ensure we get to see a season 2. Check it out HERE:

Broadway Bares: Andy Mills & Robin De Jesus in 'Monet'

Being on vacation, my Broadway Bares coverage is a bit lae, but I will be sharing some of my favorite moments from the show. First up (at the suggestion of a special someone...) is the Monet inspired number featuring the 'aw shucks' adorable Andy Mills.

Tony nominee Robin De Jésus, In The Heights, played a mischievous frog in a game of bootie hide and froggie seek with Memphis' Andy Mills and his group of country boys – set among a Monet-inspired lily pond, represented by rippling screens of hand-painted silk.
